Synopsis

The first book in this groundbreaking multimedia series sends readers around the world on the hunt for the 39 Clues. Written by #1 NYT bestseller Rick Riordan, and backed by $100,000 in prizes! Minutes before she died Grace Cahill changed her will, leaving her decendants an impossible decision: "You have a choice - one million dollars or a clue." Grace is the last matriarch of the Cahills, the world's most powerful family. Everyone from Napoleon to Houdini is related to the Cahills, yet the source of the family power is lost. 39 Clues hidden around the world will reveal the family's secret, but no one has been able to assemble them. Now the clues race is on, and young Amy and Dan must decide what's important: hunting clues or uncovering what REALLY happened to their parents.

This is an awesome series, and I think this book is the perfect way to start is off. The plot is very suspenseful, and the story is all historical and realistic fiction. Great for kids in 4th grade and up. The plot is appropriate an has no bad language and sexual content. This series is made and put together by several different authors, so I recommend you search 39 clues when at the library. P.S. The second book is called The Sword Thief, by Peter Lerangis!

    Interesting Enough!!

To be honest, I'm a fan of Riordan. I love his humour and the story is really interesting and will definitely continue reading the Book Two.

    I'm Speechless...

It is the first book. It is the 39 clues. And it is a good book. I started reading the "Cahills vs. Vespers." 39 clues series first, on the real hardback, then got the 5th on the kobo. I borrowed the 6th from my school library and at the end I saw an ad for the maze of bones. So I got it thinking it wouldn't be as exciting as the "Cahills vs. Vespers" series. And I was wrong. Dan and Amy Cahill's " parents died in a fire, and was soon handed over to their grandmother, Grace Cahill. But when she passes away too, her will takes over, saying that each member of the family had a choice... claim two million dollars, or go on a hunt to find the 39 clues- something that would make a person be the most powerful person in the world... I'd recommed this book to any body who likes action, mystery or things like that. Hope you like this book!

    Not a good ending

I found it very frusterating because it was written very well, but at the end there was not a very good resolution. I think you should have made it so that they got all 39 clues so we could know who got the treasure. It feels like it is a scam to get us to buy all of the books.
